Thai Massage uses gentle, deep stretches and compressions along with acupressure and reflexology techniques resulting in a full body treatment. The treatment improves flexibility, circulation and relieves muscular tension, whilst balancing a person’s energies. It is effective at treating a range of musculoskeletal problems including back, neck, shoulder, hip and leg pain.

The treatment encourages relaxation of mind and body, and is especially effective for releasing stress and tension.  Massage releases stiffness and soreness of muscles and joints, restoring fatigued muscles faster than passive rest. Thus regular massage is an integral part of many people’s workout and training programmes.

Thai Massage is carried out on a futon mat on the floor with the client and practitioner wearing loose, comfortable clothing allowing flexibility and free movement.

The origins of Thai Massage can be traced back over 2,500 years to India during the Buddha’s lifetime. As Buddhism spread into Thailand so did the treatments used by the monks. These treatments began to be used outside of the temples and developed over the millennia into the Thai Massage used today.
